Volunteers will help beautify Lake Waterford Park and protect the Chesapeake Bay through planting, spreading mulch, raking, clearing, and cleaning the main park area and woods surrounding the lake. Help control stormwater runoff and learn about rain-gardens, weed and plant garden areas, clean up underbrush, trash and other debris from Lake Waterford Park. Experts will be on site to discuss problems facing the Watershed. Tasks will be assigned. Individuals, families and groups are welcome to register to volunteer. Volunteers under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult (1 adult per 6 children).
Wear work clothes and closed-toe shoes. Bring a hat, sunscreen, water, work gloves, and if available: gardening tools (marked with your name) including rakes, trowels, hoes, etc. (some tools provided).
